Fossil Mosasaur Tooth in Matrix

This Mosasaur tooth fossil from Morocco dates to the late Cretaceous period, approximately 66 to 80 million years ago. Mosasaurs were large, predatory marine reptiles (not dinosaurs) that ruled the ancient oceans at that time. Each tooth is embedded in a yellowish-orange clay and each varies slightly from the image shown due to its unique nature.
