The Mars Rover was a robotic space mission involving two rovers, "Spirit" and "Opportunity". Both landed in separate locations in January, 2004. Spirit was active until March 2010 while Opportunity was active until June 2018. Opportunity has provided information leading scientists to conclue that its landing site on Mars was once covered by water for extended periods of time and thus could have provided a favorable environment for sustaining life.
