A Museum exclusive! This beautifully designed glass paperweight shows a depiction of solar winds deflected by Earth's magnetosphere and the formation of the aurora borealis as charged particles from the Sun interact with our atmosphere.
The paperweight design is a hand-drawn sketch by artist Carter Emmart, the Museum's director of astrovisualization, for the 2005 Hayden Planetarium Space Show, Cosmic Collisions.
Paperweight measures approximately 3 1/4 inches across and is presented in a black satin-lined gift box. Other products designed by Carter Emmart are also available.
