Dig It Out Excavation Kit: Apatosaurus. Apatosaurus had a long tail and a thick, 17-foot neck whose bones had paired spines. It was one of the largest, heaviest animals to have ever evolved. Apatosaurus reached its full size within 10 years and could weigh up to 50,000 pounds. A plant eater with pencil-like teeth, it didn't chew its food. Instead, Apatosaurus swallowed leaves and had a stone-filled gut ouch that "chewed" food for digestion.
