Did You Know...
  • The name Brachiosaurus means arm lizard. It was named because its front legs are much longer than its back legs.
  • The first Brachiosaurus was discovered in 1900 in Colorado, USA. But the best fossils were found in Tanzania, Africa, in 1909.
  • Brachiosaurus had sharp, chisel-like teeth for ripping off fruit, leaves and cones from high up in the treetops. It could not chew so it swallowed stones to help grind up its food in its stomach.
