African Basket Hope Trivet

Handcrafted in Rwanda, this one-of-a-kind woven trivet is made of organically dyed sisal fibers and sweet grass. Made by artisans belonging to a Fair Trade cooperative, this beautiful 10 inch trivet in shades of blue with accents in white is practical and meaningful too. The pattern is called "hope."

About the artist: The weaver of this basket is Marcelline. Her husband works as a builder and together they support their children and family. She has been weaving for 24 years. She has earned enough money to afford electricity, clothes, food, school fees and health insurance for her family.
